Visual Art Department

Our Visual Art department includes printmaking, sculpture, and painting and multimedia. The skilled, and passionate teachers of these subjects work to develop students' individuality, unique style, and artistic voice. When specializing in either of these areas, students will experiment with a broad range of techniques and mediums.

Design departments

Our Design department is comprised of ceramics and textiles. Here, students will learn how to create art that is not only beautiful but also functional. Through exploring subject-specific skills, students develop problem-solving skills, dedication, and skills.

Creative Arts

This department is catered towards junior students and includes elements of visual arts, design, drama, and dance. Students are taught skills, concepts, and techniques that form the foundation of creative practices.

Outreach Schools

Carinus provides some resources, art materials, and art education to multiple underprivileged public schools around Makhanda, Grahamstown. Students get to experience art mediums such as painting, drawing, and printmaking.
